Study skills resources on the University of Essex website:

• mySkills: Academic Skills at Essex - comprehensive website for anyone currently studying or about to embark on an academic study programme at the University of Essex, either at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
• Key Skills Online - step-by-step advice on how to improve any of the key skills.
• HelpDisk! 2.4: an online essay-writing essay-writing tutorial (campus only).
• Basic IT Skills: online tutorials covering Word, e-mail, the web, Excel, PowerPoint and bibliographic searching.
• All new students in the schools of Humanities and Comparative Studies and Social Sciences receive Notes on Essay Writing, published by the Undergraduate Schools Office. The Office's Guidelines to Avoid Cheating in Assessed Work contains lots of useful information about appropriate ways of referencing the work of others and guidance on acceptable levels of collaboration.
• The Library keeps a collection of books on study skills in the short loan collection. 
• Plagiarism - an online guide.
• The Student Support Office offers additional support for students with disabilities.
• Study skills workshops from the Student Support Office.
